KINDLE OR NOOK?

Which do you prefer & why? I'm going to start saving for one and I'm just beginning to weigh the pros & cons of each.

Prayers Please

Please say a pray for our friend's son & grandson. He was born with a heart defect and has already undergone 2 heart surgeries and just keeps having complication after complication since the 2nd surgery. This little guy can use all the help he can get!

Homecoming 2010

It was Homecoming week at our little High School last week. Each day the kids had a different theme to dress by.

Monday - color day

The Juniors had pink

Day 2 - Tourist day


Day 3 - Duct Tape day

Day 4 - Farmer day

Day 5 - Spirit day

It's traditional to get one of the football players jersey's to wear

(We had my parents small dog for a few days and I didn't want him to have free range of my house; so we had to block some doorways)

Dance night!

She didn't have a date this year, but met up with some friends for supper before the dance

and thankfully was home early.

Deal with it

I'm sure most everyone has heard the saying "Put your big girl panties on and deal with it". I've seen bloggers use and I use it ocassionally myself. I saw this is a magazine today and it made me chuckle. Sometimes it's just the way life make you feel.

"IF I HAVE TO PULL UP MY BIG GIRLS PANTIES AND DEAL WITH IT ONE MORE TIME THE ELASTIC IS GOING TO BREAK AND I REALLY WILL HAVE TO SHOW MY ASS!"

This has been a shithole of a week - okay well maybe just yesterday but it was a doozie! And it's going to keep me pinned to the ground for a few weeks and just when I think things will look up it will be there to nock me down again. I'm not going to go into any details, just that I could really use a hug and maybe some of June's wine.

Rodeo Barbie

These are 3 of the 4 little girls that she babysits and went to the rodeo with this weekend. I love the cabbage patch baby!! This was definatly her first experience with any type of rodeo or horses or livestock of any kind, but she just loves these little girls and I think she did have a really good time.

I'm feeling a little blue, a little lonely, a little left out, a little excluded

Several ladies I know went to the Women of Faith conference in Omaha this weekend. I was invited but just couldn't justify the expense on my budget, but now I wish included.

Barbie left this morning to go with the family that she babysits alot for to go to the rodeo up in north western Nebraska. This will be Barbie first real experience. The little girls will be barrel racing, i think. So she's gone. For the weekend, having fun, without me.

I worked this morning. Got to work with a good friend and we had a good b i t c h session.

Hubby has been working on our downstairs bathroom FOREVER! It's so close. I finally said it MUST be done before school starts (on Tuesday) or I was going to unleash an attitude he's never seen before. So when I got home from work hubby & his friend (wife went to WOF) were working in the shower to get it ready to grout BUT he wants hubby to go with him & his kids to go play golf - did I mention that he has been siding his house for 3 years and wants hubby to help him - - They are suppose to finish tonight when they get back.

So that just leaves me, home alone, feeling sorry for myself, wishing I had something fun to do too.

Ok enough whinning, i'll put my big girl panties on now.

Losing my mind

This is an example of how I am completely losing my mind.......

I can't remember if i put on deodorant this morning. Now i'm sitting here at work stressing to remember if I did or didn't.

And now i just realized my underwear is too dark for the skirt i'm wearing - UGG

Hi All! Remember me - you know the one that hasn't blogged in MONTHS! Come on dig deep into that memory bank......No still don't remember me. Hmm I see. Well anyway.....i'll just try to hit the highlights of the summer.

whew, that's the higlights I can remember. It's almost time for school to start again. Actually a week from today! Yikes! So not ready for that! And I think i'm getting my car back today - about $1,300 and 2 1/2 months later!



I'm going to try to do better! But it's kinda like exercising, the intention is there but sometime not the gumption.

Dear John

The girls and I went to the movie "Dear John" the other day. Well it was that Monday, President's Day or Washington's Birthday whatever that last holiday was that I got the day off. And the girls got out of school at 1:30 that day; so we headed to Kearney to catch the matinee. I was wanting to see "Valentine's Day" but the show times were not right, so we went to "Dear John" instead. I had kinda wanted to read the book first, but didn't get that done. It, the movie, was a tear jerker. All 3 of us cried. But i've heard that the book ends diffently than the movie.

So today we had an employee lunch meeting at work. 1/2 of us for an early lunch the other half for a later lunch. I went early then I had to go to our other location to cover so those gals could go the main bank for the meeting.

Anyway.......

laying there on their couch thing was the "Dear John" book. So I was like hmm I wonder how much of the book is different. So I started skimming through; this part is pretty close; this part is the same; a few differences here & there. I kept skimming until I got to the end. And i'm not going to say what was different, don't want to ruin it for anyone else, but, sniff, i was 'bout in tears from that ending too! If i'd had time to actually read the book I know I would have been bawling like a baby!

The movie is now playing in our hometown theatre this weekend and I'm so gonna try to drag hubby there and see it again!
